- Explore career options, interests and abilities through work experience. - Decide if a chosen career does or does not meet their expectations, prior to investing time and money at the post-secondary level. - Develop and enhance employability skills. - Students do not miss instructional time from other courses while attending work experience. - Learn the discipline of hard work through an extensive timeline for course work. - Develop tight collaboration with classmates through all-day classes with the same students - Complete mandatory 30 hour work/volunteer requirement for the Grad Transitions program. - Network with and obtain valuable references and contacts in a field of their choice. - Build on their learning in Planning 10. - Develop evidence to support their Grad Transitions requirements. - Accumulate employer references for broad-based applications for post-secondary admissions, ie. UBC or certain Business, Science or Arts degrees.
